Charger Features
To help you make the switch to driving an electric car, the team at RMD is here to professionally install your EV charger.
We supply and fit the best home charge points in the UK. Our skilled and knowledgeable staff will talk you through the different options available and what to expect from the installation process. Once the EV charger is installed and set up, we show you how to operate the charger before we leave. Our friendly service takes you from the initial enquiry to handing over the equipment, making sure you are satisfied every step of the way.
Tethered or untethered EV charger?
Tethered chargers come with the cable attached, ready to plug into your vehicle. This provides convenience as you don’t need to worry about carrying or connecting a separate cable.
Untethered chargers are more like a wall socket. You need to provide the cable that is suitable for your vehicle. After use, you need to remove the cable and stow it away separately.

Smart Charger
Smart EV chargers connect to the internet using your Wi-Fi or 4G. This connectivity allows you to monitor and operate the charging progress remotely via an app. The app often records usage data and can optimise charging to take advantage of off-peak electricity rates, ensuring more cost-effective charging.
Remote Management
EV chargers with remote management capabilities enable you to monitor and control the charging progress through a dedicated app. This feature provides convenience and allows you to stay informed about your charging status, even when you’re away from home or work.
Solar Enabled
Chargers with this feature allow you to charge your electric vehicle using solar energy produced by solar panels installed on your property. This promotes sustainable and environmentally friendly charging.
Budget
The price of the EV charger will affect your decision. Many of them are inexpensive but make sure you are comfortable with the costs before making your final choice.
